RATAN TATA – TATA TRUSTS CHAIRMAN DONATES A WHOPPING 500 CR TOWARDS THE COVID 19 CRISIS – TATA SONS TOPS IT UP WITH ANOTHER 1000 CR

Ratan Tata, Chairman Tata Trusts made an important announcement on Twitter a few hours back. In an extremely praiseworthy effort, he rose to the need of the nation in these crucial times and announced a donation of Rs 500 crore. This marked his support in fighting the global pandemic of Coronavirus which had taken a significant toll of lives and the health of people in India as well. 

In his tweet he mentioned that  the current situation of the global pandemic was extremely grave and needed prompt redressal. He added that even in the past Tata Trusts and the Tata Group’s  companies have always been with the nation during any crisis and this was a major one.

The donation would go towards:

Procurement of protective gear and equipment that was needed for the personal protection of all the frontline medical personnel,

Replenishing the crucial respiratory equipment that was needed for treatment

Increasing the number of testing kits 

Putting up modular treatment facilities for patients

Imparting necessary education and training to the public and the medical staff 

As an icing on the cake of generosity Tata Sons topped another 1000 crores. This was declared by N Chandrasekaran, Chairman Tata Sons as an initiative to support the commitment of their Chairman Emeritus Shri Ratan Tata.

Since its inception in 1892, the joint efforts of Tata Trusts, Tata Sons and The Tata Group has displayed commendable work in the field of philanthropy. They have been working relentlessly towards catering to the needs of the underprivileged and backward societies in India. 

This current donation will strengthen the hands of the government and is another wonderful example of giving back to society by the Tata conglomerate.
