Many tech giants are coming up with new features & other advancements for their products, also to keep up with the competition they face in the market. The recent tech company to introduce their new product much before it is expected is Microsoft which could roll out its ‘Dual Screen‘ Surface Duo much sooner in the market than it was previouslydecided.
As per sources, Microsoft may launch Surface Duo in spring itself& if they meet the deadline, the product will be ready to get shipped in “limited quantities” as early as summer. Zac Bowden from Windows Central is also of the same view that the Surface Duo is ahead of its schedule & it could get launched in the forthcoming hardware event planned in summers by the company, the same event where the company could also unveil the Surface Go 2 and Surface Book 3.
Bowden also claimed that software & hardware both have been finalised & now the company is doing the final touches on the top-level OS customisation and in-box app experiences specific to the Surface Duo. The software will get ready by April & the launch is expected to target tech enthusiasts & developers.
As per the report, the Surface Duo, which is a dual-screen hybrid device, will have 6GB RAM and 64GB internal storage & will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor. And, it will also have dated specifications. Also, Surface Duo, which is seen as a new category of device, would be pitted against premium devices like Galaxy S20 & iPhone 11 Pro.
Although the new product from Microsoft has a unique design & form making it a one of a kind device, some of its specifications might not be at par with its contemporaries in the market, one of it being that it lacks 5G support. There are speculations that the next iPhone (iPhone 12) will probably feature 5G.
Exhaustive development of the dual-screen device is said to the reason why the company is probably running to roll out the Surface Duo much sooner than expected. Last year in October at the company’s fall event, the Surface Duo along with the Surface Neo was showed off by Microsoft. And, the Surface Neo is scheduled to be launched on Holiday, 2020.
