The Work from home plan by BSNL gets a validity extension till 17th May

With the whole world under a lockdown and India more so, the number of people working from home has gone up and all of them demand good internet connectivity and high broadband speeds. Leading telecom service provider BSNL ( Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ) had launched a work @home plan that offered free internet to the customers owning a land line. This plan was launched only for a month till 19th April. In keeping with the assumption that the lockdown may be extended the company has also extended its work@home plan till 16th May.

Under this plan the customer gets 5 GB data daily at a download speed of 10Mbps. There are other value added benefits in this plan, such as a free email id for each user with a storage space of 1GB. It is a free plan with no monthly charges, but there is a caveat. Under this plan there are no free voice calls and it is charged according to a land line plan.

The prepaid users of BSNL were given a choice between two newly launched plan. There are two plans one of 693 Rs and the other for 1212. In a bid to entice people to stay at home and practice social distancing, BSNL thought of this lucrative plan.

The twitter handle of BSNL – Tamil Nadu, announces this extension. The other salient features of this plan are:

a daily quota of  GB mentioned and ensuring that one gets the 5 GB data at 10Mbps speeds.

No changes to the voice calling plan and calls will be charged as per the landline tariff plan opted for.
