Twitter halts the plans to remove inactive accounts on its platform

Twitter has recently announced that it is halting the plan to remove the inactive accounts from its platform after a lot of users complained that the profiles of their loved ones would get deleted.

Few days earlier, Twitter quoted that all the accounts which has been inactive for the last 6 months would be deleted from the website including the accounts of deceased users.

Also unlike Facebook, Twitter doesn’t have the option to memorialize the accounts of people who have died.

Following the announcement of twitter, the number of people pleaded with the website not to take such actions.

In response to the actions, Twitter announced that the original decision was more sought of a “ miss” and they won’t be removing it until they find a way from the people to memorialize them.

The company further quoted that it may take action to broaden the enforcement of inactivity policy in the coming future but it will communicate if such action is taken.

Lastly, they apologized for the confusion that was created.
