Shaky Surprise in Delhi!
Grounds of Delhi wiggled! A big earthquake, measuring 7.2 on the Richter scale, hit Xinjiang, China late Monday night. Delhi and parts of NCR felt the tremors too!
When Did It Happen?
The Earth vibrated at 11:39 pm IST on January 22nd, 2024. It was a deep rumble, happening about 80 kilometers below the ground.
How Strong Was It?
Earthquakes are like report cards, marked on the Richter scale. The higher the number, the stronger the shake. A 7.2 is a biggie, it can shake buildings and crack walls.
Anyone Hurt?
Thankfully, no major injuries or widespread damage have been reported in Delhi or elsewhere. We’re still learning about the full impact.
