In a magnanimous effort, King Khan has offered the combined support of his companies Red Chillies Entertainment, Meer Foundation, Red Chillies VFX and Kolkata Knight Riders to the Central and State Governments in battling the pandemic of the Coronavirus.
He made this announcement public on his social media pages. A post on the twitter handle of Red Chillies mentioned that although the task on hand was enormous and their initiatives modest, but they hoped that they would make a difference even if it was a small one.
Shah Rukh complimented the ongoing efforts to fight the COVID – 19 outbreak and made a special mention of the names of PM Narendra Modi, Uddhav Thackerey, Mamta Banerjee and Arvind Kejriwal for their leadership and direction during these trying times. The statistics on Thursday revealed 50 deaths in the country and an increase in the number of those affected which till then had touched 1,965.
His franchise Kolkata Knight Riders which is co partnered with his wife Gauri, Jay Mehta and Juhi Chawla would donate towards the PM CARES fund. This fund was initiated by PM Modi to battle health crises including the current one which is the COVID – 19.His other company Red Chillies Entertainment would donate in the Maharashtra CM’s Relief Fund.
Initiatives that would provide personal protective gear to the front line heroes or initiatives through tie ups to provide daily food to families of more than 5500 in Mumbai for atleast a month would be supported by his other venture Meer Foundation. Additional initiatives include setting up of kitchens with a planned output of 2000 freshly cooked meals per day to assist those in hospitals who were deprived of this basic facility. His NGO would provide meal kits to the underprivileged at an estimated supply of 3 lakh meal kits which would suffice for atleast 10,000 needy people for a month atleast.
Meer Foundation is also gearing up to support acid attack victims in Bihar, West Bengal, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.
A joint press release/ letter on a letterhead with the logos of all his companies has been put out on his Instagram @iamsrk and in that while all these initiatives are outlined , King Khan also mentions mentions that this calamity would not pass over soon but as a nation we could jointly do our bit and he on his part was making his modest efforts towards the helping in tiding over this grave crisis.
