Sandeep Vanga Reddy at a critical juncture after two actors refused his next.

Sandeep Vanga Reddy has been in the news since the time ‘Kabir Singh’ the Hindi version of his Telugu hit movie ‘Arjun Reddy’ released in June last year. The Hindi film proved to be a massive success not only at the box office but also in people’s heart, to say the least.

Though, the film faced mixed opinions about some supporting the idea of a drunkard man in love while some were critical towards the same & was of the opinion that beating your girl can never be justified. However, Vanga always defended this & tried to explain to every critic that the characters itself were flawed & that they should be seen that way.

Anyway, nobody can take away the success this unabashed director got by delivering back to back hits with the Telugu version & the Hindi version of the film no matter how much backlash the films faced from critics &some of the self-proclaimed feminists.

Recent buff is that the candid director is at a critical juncture deciding for his upcoming project titled ‘Devil’. The Hindi film was reportedly offered to actor Ranbir Kapoor. However, the ‘Sanju’ actor is not ready to take up this project at this point in his career as it is about portraying a negative character. And, the latest news is that he has already walked out of the project.

Initially, the role was offered to Mahesh Babu, who also rejected it, giving the same reason as he too was not interested in playing a dark character.

This makes Vanga to still come to a decision & find another hero for this project.

Sandeep had been in the news the past year mainly for a controversial interview he had given to a channel post the release of ‘Kabir Singh’. The controversy was created when he said, “If you can’t slap, if you can’t touch your woman wherever you want, and if you can’t slap, you can’t kiss, you can’t use cusswords, I don’t see emotion there.”

Later he even said that the interview was edited in a very wrong way & that he only tried to explain the mindset of the protagonist who believed that violence may be his way of expressing love and that he was not propagating it as his. He even took a stand against a few critics who got way too critical for his film & said that some of them get a kick for pulling down a movie if it’s not within the boundaries of accepted morality.

Despite all the controversies the film faced, ‘Kabir Singh’ still became one of the biggest hits of 2019 with a box office collection of more than 300 crores & also giving Shahid Kapoor the first stand-alone hit of his career.
