An Offer To Make Ventilators For Those Affected By COVID – 19 Comes From Tesla CEO – Elon Musk

Tesla CEO – Elon Musk, has taken the growing concern over COVID – 19 positive cases all over the world very seriously and offered to make medical  ventilators from its factory in Fremont. A recent report mentions that at least 8,000 people have succumbed to this deadly virus.

While offering to make medical ventilators Musk stated that they would chip in only if there was a shortage of ventilators and went on to add that while it is not difficult to produce them they cannot be produced “instantly.”

Tesla is a well-known brand in the automobile segment, making cars with sophisticated hvac systems.

This statement of Musk came in the light of the Trump administration urging U.S Construction companies to donate masks to healthcare workers and hospitals who are now combatting a nationwide shortage of respirator masks.

The ventilator acts as a critical component that comes in very handy as a first line of defence for infected patients.

A large number of twitter users welcomed Musk’s announcement to help out with the current shortage of masks in the U.S.

The Sole U.S auto factory of Tesla has more than 10,000 workers and its annualized production was a little higher than 415,000 units by the fourth quarter. As a precautionary measure beginning this Thursday workers prior to entry at Tesla  workers will receive masks and have their temperatures checked. The electric car maker also clarified that it had not laid off any employees due to the Coronavirus outbreak but in fact lowered the number of workers in the vehicle factory at California in accordance with government guidelines laid out to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

An email sent out by the company asked only essential staff whose role encompassed direct support to the factory production should report for work whereas the other employees could work from home.
