Redmi 8 A Dual with 5,000MAh battery – introduced in India today

The new Redmi 8 A dual has been introduced in two variants – a 2GB RAM and a 3 GB RAM with an inbuilt storage of 32GB. The price of this phone starts from Rs 6,499. Redmi 8 A Dual will be on sale from today via Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Amazon India.

The 3 colour options available are:  Midnight Grey, Sea Blue, and Sky White

This upgraded version of the Redmi 8A is powered by a Snapdragon 439 SoC, 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage for the base model. The key feature is a huge 5,000mAh battery which could last a user for an entire day without any problems. The phone has a mesh texture on the back with P2i nano coating to facilitate an extra grip, labelled by Redmi as the “Aura X Grip

 

The Redmi 8ADual has a base model with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage and this is priced at Rs. 6,499 in India. The other option with a 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at Rs. 6,999. Although initially in the introductory phase the phone will be available via Mi.com, Mi Home stores, and Amazon it will very soon be available in the retail stores and with online vendors.  

The lucrative launch offer includes a 5 percent instant discount for the buyer on the usage of an ICICI Bank credit card for the purchase and EMI transaction on Mi.com.  It would not be incorrect to say that this new product is an upgrade of the earlier available Redmi 8A.

There is a dual rear camera set-up for optics – the primary sensor is 13 megapixels with f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.12 micron. The other is a 2 megapixel sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 1.75 micron pixel size. There is an 8 megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 1.12-micron pixel size in the front camera.

As for the connectivity feature, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.20, and a 3.5mm headphone jack is supported by the Redmi 8A.  There is a USB Type-C port for charging, GPS, and Wi-Fi Direct.
