In the latest breaking news coming in –Cricket Board President and former National team captain, Sourav Ganguly has been hospitalized in the ICU following a heart attack.

A routine day at the gym for Sourav Ganguly assumed grave consequences suddenly. He complained of feeling uneasy while he was at the gym and had to be rushed to the Woodland hospital nearby. This was quickly diagnosed as a heart attack. Social media was rife with messages from well-wishers, praying for his speedy recovery. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted and said she had learned that Sourav had suffered a mild heart attack and wished him a speedy recovery. She further went on to add in the tweet that she was with him and his family in this hour of need and had all of them in her prayers. In a tweet put out by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah, it was mentioned that Ganguly’s condition as now stable and the medical treatment being given out to him was being received positively by him and he was showing signs of recovery.

It is said that various tests will be conducted on him and he is most likely to undergo angioplasty. The cricket community and cricketers have all wished their “dada “a speedy recovery.

Sourav Ganguly born on 8th July 1972 had assumed office as President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India on 23rd October 2019. Sourav is a left-handed batsman.

Ganguly has had an illustrious career in cricket and was high on the popularity charts too. His career had also been marked with certain controversies like his rift with Greg Chappell. This was ultimately resolved and a truce between the two was declared. In 2008 Ganguly joined KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) as its captain before moving on to other avenues. This franchise is owned by actor Shahrukh Khan, Bollywood actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta.
