This agitation has impacted people globally and more so the Indians residing in America and Canada.

Recently United States – Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo has received a letter dated 23rd December, from 7 reputed lawmakers in the USA. The letter requests him to bring up and discuss the latest issue of the farmers’ protests in India with his Indian counterpart. The issue is very concerning for Sikh Americans who have strong ties with India. They have land in India, which they have inherited from their ancestors, as well as close relatives and friends still residing in India. It is said that several Indians residing outside India have a close connection of a similar nature.  It is suggested in the letter that Pompeo can offer advice to resolve this matter amicably. The Indian Americans are concerned about the safety and well-being of their families in the wake of this stir and fear for them.
