PM Modi expresses grief over death of violinist TN Krishnan

The year 2020 should be really something that should be deleted from the history of the world.

Right from the start of the year to date, we are only witnessing the deaths of lakhs of people and even geniuses and legends are passing away. People from Bollywood cried their hearts out after witnessing the deaths of Wajid Khan, Rishi Kapoor, Sushant Singh Rajput, Irrfan Khan, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam, and more.

Now, if the film industry is trying to recover with shooting starting for various movies, sad news has come from the music industry. A renowned violinist TN Krishnan has died in Chennai, Tamil Nadu at the age of 92. Trippunithura Narayanaiyer Krishnan, shortly called TN Krishnan, was a Carnatic music violinist. He is usually teamed with Lalgudi Jayaraman and M. S. Gopalakrishnan as part of the violin-trinity of Carnatic Music.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged the loss of the gem of the music industry and wrote on Twitter,  “The demise of noted violinist TN Krishnan leaves a big void in the world of music. His works beautifully encapsulated a wide range of emotions and strands of our culture. He was also an outstanding mentor to young musicians. Condolences to his family and admirers. Om Shanti.”

Through the tweet, Modi shared his condolences message to the noted violinist’s family.TN Krishnan died on Monday evening. He was born on October 6, 1926, in Kerala and later went to Chennai for work and settled there.

He was a recipient of various awards like Padma Bhushan, Padma Vibhushan, and Sangeetha Kalanidhi.TN Krishnan was wedded to Kamala Krishnan and had two children, Viji Krishnan Natarajan, and Sriram Krishnan. His children are popular violinists and have ensured to take forward his father’s legacy in the music industry.

We pray to God that Krishnan’s family gets the courage to face the harsh reality and may Krishnan’s soul rest in peace.
