The deepening mystery around the late actor’s death on whether his death was a suicide or murder remains unresolved till date. While the CBI investigation is still continuing and all aspects are still being examined thoroughly, on this Wednesday the CBI ruled out murder and claimed that it was a case of suicide.
Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his residence in Bandra on the 14th of June 2020. It has been a matter of great debate and contemplation since then, with people divided in their views as to whether the actor committed suicide or was murdered.
The latest development in this case is the granting of bail by the Bombay High court, to his girlfriend and live in partner Rhea Chakraborty. She was released after spending 28 days in Byculla jail. Rhea was granted bail on the grounds of not being in possession of any narcotics or contraband substances and no recovery of those by the NCB. The Bombay High Court stated that since there was no recovery it went to prove that she had not committed any offence that involved any commercial quantity of contraband.
The family of the deceased is still fighting for justice and the family lawyer Vikas Singh and his team has written to the CBI Director seeking a reconstitution of the medical team for the reexamination. They claim that the AIIMS report is faulty. The report states that there is no sign of struggle or other marks on the body or clothes of the actor that point towards any foul play, hence has ruled out murder and said that it was a case of suicide.
Investigations so far have also proved no connection between the alleged suicide of Disha Salian and the actor.
The CBI is currently investigating various angles related to the actor’s finances, professional pressures, and drug consumption willingly or part of a design, his mental health and so on.
While nothing conclusive had yet emerged as to whether it was a suicide or murder, reports so far seem to suggest that there was no foul play and are heavily weighted towards suicide. The investigation is continuing and the results will finally reveal whether it was actually a suicide or murder. Till then the contemplations, conjectures and various theories continue to float since this is one death in recent times which had drawn not only National but International debate and attention!
