An audio tape of Maulana Saad recorded on 18th March 2020, when the Government had already issued prohibitory orders against a gathering of more than 200 people at a place, in an open flaunting of the order of the police and the Government more than 1000 people were already gathered inside the mosque at Nizamuddin – the Tabliqi Headquarters.
In the audio clip which has gone viral we can clearly hear Maulana Saad ridiculing the aspect of social distancing saying that these orders are divisive and can only create a rift between the Muslims. This disease has also probably been brought about by Allah because the Muslims are not reading Namaz regularly. His is heard informing the gathering that not coming to mosques is not going to help in anyway. They must pay no heed to doctors, If Allah had destined that people die because of this disease then there was no better place to die than a mosque.
He continues to tell the gathering not to stop praying, not to stop coming to the mosque and to ignore the doctors’ advice as it was meaningless and just a part of a conspiracy to separate all Muslims. In fact he called it a programme to stop Muslims from meeting each other.
It should be noted that other Muslim dominated countries like Saudi Arabia and UAE have also closed their mosques in the face of this pandemic and to prevent community spread of this disease, but Maulana Saad doesn’t consider Coronavirus a threat at all and is in fact pushing the followers towards the dreaded disease by not informing them of the risks involved and the dangers of community transmission.
This view of the Maulana closely echoes the views expressed by the Pakistan Prime Minister recently when he said to beat the coronavirus the “ Iman “ or faith of the Pakistani people was enough.
In a revelation that has sent shock waves throughout the country the spike in recent COVID 19 positive cases are all related to the recent religious gathering of the Tabliqi Jamaat.
An FIR has been issued against the Maulana who is currently untraceable.
