Former BharatPe CEO Ashneer Grover Faces Legal Turmoil Over Alleged 81 Crore Fraud
Big news! The ex-CEO of BharatPe, Ashneer Grover, is facing some serious problems. The police, known as the Enforcement Directorate (ED), say he might have done something really wrong. They accuse him of making up fake bills to take away a huge amount of money, a whopping Rs 81 crores, from BharatPe.
The police also say that Ashneer didn’t just stop at taking the money. They claim he used it to buy fancy things and houses. Now, he has to deal with a lot of legal issues.
This is not the first time Ashneer is in trouble. Another group called the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) is already looking into whether he did some tricky stuff while running BharatPe. On top of that, people who invested money in the company are taking him to court, saying they lost money because of what he did.
But Ashneer says he didn’t do anything wrong. He thinks some people want to make him look bad on purpose.
Before all this mess, Ashneer was a big deal at BharatPe. He helped start the company, and it became really successful. But he had to leave his job in January 2022 because people said he was using the company’s money for himself and not treating his employees right.
Now, with this new Rs 81 crore accusation, things are getting even more complicated. If the police prove he did something wrong, Ashneer could be in big trouble and might have to go to jail for a long time.
This whole situation is also making things tough for BharatPe. People are already not so sure about the company because of what happened with Ashneer earlier. Now, with this new accusation, it’s even harder for them to trust BharatPe. We’ll have to wait and see how everything turns out and what it means for the company and for Ashneer.
