Doing the social media rounds was a video of a hospital staff singing to Rishi Kapoor and he in turn blessing him. This was labeled by some as recorded just before he passed away, but the hospital staff in the video went out to express in an interview that this was not recorded just before he passed away in fact it dated back to 2nd of February .
In what can be termed as complete insensitivity and invasion of privacy a video was being circulated on social media recorded from an insider of the hospital showing Rishi Kapoor struggling and in extreme difficulty to breathe just minutes before he passed away.
Bollywood has slammed this gross act of complete lack of empathy. Television host and actor Mini Mathur tweeted :
Mini also went on to tag the Mumbai police in a bid to get it noticed and some action taken against the recording of these private and absolutely personal moments.
Actor Arjun Kapoor also said “The choice is not to post something is sometimes as important as to be the first to post something. Images have a lot of power lest we forget.
“Sometimes humanity and empathy must prevail over being first to embrace use of sly voyeuristic material presented to you.”
TV star Karan Wahi mentioned that he too had seen it and immediately deleted it as by forwarding it he too would have become party to this violation.
Popular actor Rishi Kapoor passed away at HN Reliance Hospital in Mumbai on Thursday April 30th. He had been battling cancer since 2018.
