Bollywood has reacted very responsibly and positively during the current 21 day lock down period imposed in the country in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The actors have been maintaining the social distancing yet continuing to be motivational for their millions of fans and well- wishers through their videos and messages on social media. Be it Katrina Kaif or Kartik Aryan tackling the household chores of sweeping and washes dishes, or be it Deepika Padukone introducing us to her culinary skills and showing us how to manage the kitchen, or be it work out videos from Shilpa Shetty, Katrina Kaif, Ishan Khattar, or Varun Dhawan or kathak lessons from dancing diva Madhuri Dixit, or Hrithik Roshan introducing us to his piano lessons, they are showing us how to make the most of the current times, be useful and also enjoy.
Yesterday on the 5th of April, in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to the 130 crore people of India to switch off their household lights and instead light “diyas” candles or shine their cell phone lights and torches at 9 pm for 9 minutes our Bollywood starts chipped in to add to the success of this initiative.
Madhuri Dixit along with her family and household staff was seen standing with lighted “diyas.” She delivered a message in Marathi and Hindi and urged everybody to pray to Lord Krishna to give all of us strength to destroy the Coronavirus which was a big enemy to mankind. It was a treat to hear her husband Dr. Nene also deliver a message in Marathi to all the Insta viewers.
Bollywood Diva Katrina Kaif too looked ethereal standing amidst lighted candles in support of the movement, her sister Isabella too joined in. She captioned the picture with a wish that this light should illuminate the darkness and expressed the strength of unity and togetherness.
Mega star Amitabh Bachchan in his instagram post is seen holding a light in his hand with a message that if the night is dark you have the power to light it up. He was quoting from an epic poem by his father Late Shri Harivansh Rai Bachchan. He promised to his 15 M insta fans that he would put up the entire poem today for them to read.
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone also expressed their support by posting images of lit candles and themselves along with it.
The 5th of April 9 pm saw Bollywood actors lighting up the social media with pictures of their electrifying performances.
