Seems like the controversies which initially went against the upcoming historical 3D film Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has been taken quite seriously by the makers. This is shown in their new trailer where Ajay Devgn’s character is shown as a hardcore nationalist & a strong patrioteer.

To add up to all this, the trailer also shows saffron flag-waving with high drama & CGI effects. It also puts an emphasis on Swaraj.

The all-new trailer of the film boasts everything about Swaraj, the power of saffron flag & also Maratha patriotism. Well, nothing wrong with its sloganeering about the subject of the film considering it is about the great bravery & courage of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army & Ajay plays the titular role of Tanhaji who was the military leader in the army but, what completely comes in the way of what would have been a powerful trailer of the epic historical story are the terrible VFX & CGI effects.

The trailer even shows the tagline of “the surgical strike that shook the Mughal empire” showing how the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb played religious politics to pit a Hindu against another to create friction & disharmony among the Hindu community. And, to show the power of saffron & the Maratha army, Devgn’s character Tanhaji gives a monologue on the same.

Everything said & done, despite being a magnum opus of a historical drama, the film still lacks the CGI effects that make a viewer believe that it is a historical war story set in the 17th century. Whether it is the environment or the birds, arrows or even mountains, everything seems to be of poor quality in terms of computer-generated effects.

The film has been in the news for many wrong reasons. It was stuck in controversies with a few Sanghs in the past which alleged the film to show distorted facts & also the false depiction of history. However, in another story Ameya Khopkar, an MNS leader supported the film for showcasing the bravery of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army in the trailer.

The film is set to release in 3D on January 10, 2020, &features Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Saif Ali Khan, Sharad Kelkar, Luke Kenny, Neha Sharma, and Padmavati Rao & Pankaj Tripathi among others. It will also clash with Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak at the box office.
