MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) has made it mandatory for the local authority to ensure 100% coverage of Aarogya Setu application on mobile among the residents of the Containment Zones.​​

Soon the government will make (IRVS) Interactive voice response system voice calls to nearly 90 crore people to check if they have symptoms of the Covid-19 infection through Aarogya Setu app, as it helpstracing of infected people through this app.

The Aarogya Setu application, developed by the government, will be extended to all smart phone users.The Centre is planning to partner with telecom operators like Bharti Airtel, Reliance Jio and Vodafone-Idea, who will allow government IVRS calls to their subscribers.Currently there are around 55 crore smart feature phone users in the country.

MHA (Ministry of Home Affairs) in its order extended the lockdown till May 17 and made it compulsory for the local authority to ensure 100% coverage of Aarogya Setu app among the residents of the Containment Zone.

The voice calls, from the government authority will be in all Indian languages, and will use an IVRS call from a central helpline number – 1921.

The IVRS call will be recorded and will check for symptoms through multiple choice numbers.The local health authorities will then be alerted about those who report anysymptoms of infection, Mr Abhishek Singh, CEO of MyGovtreported.

The CEO explained that all smartphone users who have not yet downloaded the application will be getting notifications from their service providers to download the Arogya Setu App.

It is estimated that, around 8 crore people have installed the app, which alerts users if they come in the vicinity of  a Covid-19 positive person, using the GPS location and Bluetooth on their devices. Through a unique ID generation for each user the app keeps track of all other IDs coming in contact with it and the GPS location and the time of said contact.

It works on the surmise that when the Bluetooth of two phones are connected  thenif one individual is found to be infected then it is concluded that the other individual too is at a potential risk of infection.
