Priyanka Chopra claps from far away USA and registers her applause during the Janata Curfew in India

How many times have we heard of the phrase “united in spirit? “ Well very often we would say. On the 22nd of March 2020 at 5 pm when the nation was clapping for 5 minutes to show solidarity and support for our workers from essential services comprising the Medical fraternity, the police force, routine yet important administrative services and so on who have worked and are working round the clock to care for those affected in the Coronavirus pandemic with scant regard for their own health and well being, there was someone far away in the USA who although not present physically was present in spirit.

It is not difficult to guess then who that someone was. It was none other than International celebrity Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Priyanka is very active on social media with a huge fan following out of which her Instagram account alone has a follower base of 51.1 million. Currently she and her husband Nick Jonas like the other celebrities all over the world are practising self-isolation. The immensely popular 37 year old actress uploaded a video on her instagram story of her clapping from the balcony of her home in the US and registered her support and praise for all the workers of the essential services in India.

This call for clapping at 5 pm on the 22nd of March, to praise and cheer the first in line workers of essential services in India was made  by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a recent live telecast of his speech in the wake of the global and national calamity of coronavirus .
