Fenugreek seeds or what is popularly known as “methi dana” are one of those magic ingredients found in our kitchen that is known to have various health benefits. These tiny seeds in itself are so powerful in its properties that it might take people by surprise looking at the benefits they can offer in providing proper nutrition to a body &improving the health of an individual.

However, everything that an individual consumes in a day also has an ideal time for its consumption. Not anything & everything can be consumed at any hour of the day & this is something which is a complete no-no when it comes to maintaining a healthy body & consuming the right food at the wrong time can also make a person lose out on the properties that a food item offers.

The same is the case when it comes to fenugreek seeds. Some reports suggest that methi dana should be the first thing to be consumed in the morning. These seeds are known to have high medicinal properties & can deal with issues like digestive ailments, diabetes, can control Type-2 diabetes & also can lower blood sugar levels in people suffering from diabetes. It is also one of the best food ingredients for strengthening bones. Its leaves are also used to prepare savoury dish & even paranthas.

Hence, to take advantage of all its benefits & medicinal properties, it is also imperative to consume it at the right time, which is in the morning. For people who are not in sync with the idea of having it as the first thing in the morning can have it in other food preparations like dal, curries, etc.

Though there are many ways to consume it, one of the best ways to do that for extracting the best results out of it is: take a glass of hot water, add 1 tbsp. of methi dana in it & soak it for around 10 minutes. Strain it & it is ready as a healthy drink. You can also add lemon & a pinch of honey to add some flavour to the drink.

Some of the other benefits that fenugreek seeds offer are it deals with constipation, reduces heartburn, relieves an upset stomach, lowers cholesterol levels, helps in destroying free radicals in the body which prevents dark spots & wrinkles, stimulates uterine & labour compression, it also helps in preventing diseases like colon cancer, among other benefits.
