There are many features that Whatsapp introduces every few months to keep it up-to-date in the tech market & it also keeps informing us about any new actions or decisions it takes regarding its services to phones.

A very crucial thing that Whatsapp does this time is to end services with certain phones just like it had done a few years back with Nokia & Blackberry & very soon after that it also stopped its services with older versions of the operating systems of Android, iPhones, Microsoft.

Again this year Whatsapp has decided to end its services with some iPhones, Android & Window OS phones which runs on old OS systems.

The latest news on the Whatsapp blog post is that they are going to end their services for all Windows OS systems, 2.3.7 & older versions of Android phones after December 31, 2019. And, for iPhones, they will stop services for iOS 7 & older versions from February 1, 2020.

Why does Whatsapp want to end services on these phones?

The apparent reason for such kind of change & advancement is because they feel they cannot expand their new & upcoming features in the older version of operating systems & phones because of the required capabilities a phone or an OS needs to encompass new features.

Whatsapp will not immediately end its services on December 31, 2019, but will surely not give any updates further.

Whatsapp also mentioned that it will not stop working immediately but some of its services may stop functioning at any time & the app will no longer get any updates further which will eventually end its service with that phone.

The entire idea & intention of Whatsapp for doing this is only to focus on devices that are most upgraded, most used & with latest OS systems so that their new & upcoming features can be used to its full capabilities with delightful experiences.
